Her Story
The Algoma Innovator was constructed in Croatia as part of the second phase of Algoma Central’s Equinox class fleet renewal program. She features a forward-mounted unloading boom to make it easier to reach certain docks in tight locations. She was launched on December 26, 2016, and after a long voyage to Canada, entered service on the Great Lakes on April 3, 2018. The Algoma Innovator has found herself involved in Algoma’s winter salt runs, only spending about a month in layup in her first two seasons on the Great Lakes.
The Algoma Innovator is engaged in the stone, grain, and salt trades on the Great Lakes and Seaway system.
