Her Story
A-390 was built in 1982 as the tank barge Canonie 40 by the St. Louis Shipbuilding division of Pott Industries, of St. Louis, MO. She was built for Canonie Transportation Co. of Muskegon, MI, and was utilized to transport petroleum products on the Great Lakes.
In 1988, Canonie sold much of its equipment to the newly-formed Andrie Inc., also of Muskegon. The Canonie 40 was sold to Andrie in 1988. She was renamed A-390 in 1992. A-390 spent time paired with the tug Barbara Andrie and later the Sarah Andrie, and remains active in the liquid asphalt trade on the Great Lakes.
